Reverend Friedrich Wilhelm Reinke, age 85 of Fort Walton Beach went to be with his Lord on November 22, 2016. He was the son of Hellmuth & Evelyn Reinke born on June 1, 1931 in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Rev. Reinke will be remembered for his sixty years of ministry in the Lutheran Church including twenty-five years as a USAF Chaplain (Lt Col.). He was ordained in Wisconsin where he met his wife Marlene, and moved to Great Falls, Montana to Pastor a church while also serving in the USAF National Guard. Later he became an Air Force Chaplain and was stationed in Kansas, Greece, Michigan, Korea, Mississippi, Germany, Florida, California, England, and back to California where he retired. Some of his achievements include; the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, the Meritorious Service Medal with 4 oak leaf clusters, and the Air Force Commendation Medal with one oak leaf cluster. Rev. Reinke was predeceased in death by his parents, and his son, Paul. He is survived by his loving wife, Marlene; daughter, Elizabeth Reinke Becton (Robert Becton), granddaughters Jill Facchetti (Zamboni), Angela Reinke, and his three great-grandsons, Julian, Nicola, and Stefano. The viewing will be at Emerald Coast Funeral Home between the hours of 6:00 and 8:00 PM on Monday, November 28th. The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, November 29th at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Ft. Walton Beach, FL. with a pre-service viewing at 10:00 AM followed by the funeral at 11:00 AM. Internment will take place at Beal Memorial Cemetery with a reception afterwards at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church.
